Apps for Military Life Part II

May 10, 2016

We are back with even more apps that can help simplify your daily routine. These apps will make it easy to track down illusive base information, get a great deal at your commissary and local grocery store, or find a gas station in a brand new city when the dreaded light comes on.

Ibotta

Ibotta is affectionately known as “The Cash Back App,” and they make good on this promise. The deal is pretty straightforward, visit their app (available on iOS and Android devices) and check out the weeks offers. Unlock these rebates by completing simple tasks and then head to the store. After you’ve shopped till you’ve dropped, snap a pic of your receipt on the app. You will have the rebate deposited into your account within 48 hours. Ibotta has partnered with hundreds of retailers to offer their rebates including Military Commissaries, Target, Walmart, Costco and more.

Military Traveler

The Military Traveler App is a universal base directory app available on iOS and Android devices. Set the app to open up to you “home base” and a wealth of information is at your fingertips. There is no need to dig through the web to find the hours of the gym or movie times at the base theater. With continual updates, this app gets you the information you need when you need it.

Around Me

When you are at a new duty station, finding a nearby coffee stop, gas station, or restaurant can be a head-scratching task. This app aims to solve this problem. Open the app when you are out and about and select from a long list of categories like movies, parking, bars, coffee shops, and more and the app pulls up a list of the nearby locations. Who knew there were three coffee shops in walking distance of your new house? The app also offers great information like local guides and current weather.
